This book tells the story of one of the most famous Italian brands in the world.

Drawing on heterogeneous materials preserved in the brand’s archive—footwear, photographs, advertising, catalogs, objects— the narrative unfolds in a non-chronological way, highlighting themes that help the reader navigate the extraordinary history of a company that is part of the history of our country and a a driving force of innovation and development.

Over its hundred-year history, Superga has given aesthetic and functional form to athletic, protective, and leisure footwear. It has shaped the imagery of a lifestyle that is always contemporary. The volume opens with a sequence of fifteen images that convey the transformation of Superga’s visual language and imagery over the decades.

Key themes and elements are reorganized in the Code, a system of words that functions as the book’s index, offering a cross-sectional reading of its contents.

A glossary explores technical terms, materials, and forms in greater depth, helping to clarify the production processes, innovations, and models that have defined the brand’s quality over time. The volume closes with a timeline that succinctly traces the history of Superga.

The themes are divided into seven categories: Foot, Rubber, Sport, Turin, Outdoors, Narratives.
